Invocation 01:40
speak through me, grandmother, grandfather, grandmother, grandfather saba, savta dad speak through me i call upon your spirits to make this offering let’s re-unite this is to lift everyone up to help everyone rise those who came before me those who came before you let’s rise i’ll listen my ears are open my heart is open i’m ready to be reconnected with my roots with soil i know it will give me the connection i need to Earth grounding to Mercury flying i’m your channel to heal the world you left behind thank you for giving me life. thank you for your directions i’ll be present
2.
as one of the two seeds you planted, still blossoming i’m here to tell you you’re missed your absence shaped all of us in ways you couldn’t foresee but mama grew lotuses in the mud you left behind you knew the only way to truly rise was to climb a thousand steps still you tried to take the elevator over and over again you left your lover’s heart forever broken you left your sisters seasoning september’s rain running down their cheeks you left your brothers asking the night sky, why, you left
3.
your soul rose unexpectedly but you knew, you wanted to fly like a caterpillar impatient to become a butterfly transformation gave you wings no crawling up staircases no elevators but wings to fly off to freedom don’t fear the shadows they just mean there’s a light shining somewhere don’t fear the shadows they just mean there’s a light shining somewhere i hope to rise in this life not by passing on to the next don’t fear the shadows they just mean there’s a light shining somewhere don’t fear the shadows they just mean there’s a light shining somewhere but i grow weary sometimes at those times, i need you most to hold my heavy heart refill my life’s force light a flame so i can see where to place my feet while i wade my way through the dark remind me not to fear the shadows they just mean there’s a light shining somewhere don’t fear the shadows they just mean there’s a light shining somewhere
4.
fathers, we daughters love you. this recklessness you had, i would have loved to imitate that for a while, on special occasions only when i sit with my right leg, crossed over my left leg, lately i talk like you. when i stare up to the sky before i sleep at night i don’t look i don’t look i don’t look for the brightest star anymore. but i know you approach as we gather near to tell you how dear you are to us here and i know we are safe when i look above guarded by the stars i still feel your love
5.
there he sits in your sons seat a fellow survivor of time he turns quiet too in crowds you go inward sit in your own peace you enjoy the tumult a soft smile on your lips your eyes kind yet regal you have never been a woman of many words but you know the art of speaking with your eyes sit in your own peace you enjoy the tumult a soft smile on your lips your eyes kind yet regal you look into that man’s eyes your grandchild on his lap and you know you two are carved from the same tree you pick up some bread break it in two reach out to him we are family now
6.
Healing 01:09
In the presence of your absence healing was born our family awoke from the shock your loss cast over us and we rose embracing new lights we learned to grow in ashes
7.
born on summer solstice you are the queen of light long wavy white hair and ocean blue sparkling eyes born on summer solstice you have a voice to rise don’t let anybody ever tell you otherwise dance with me bare feet let’s go there where wood elves meet we will dance like we used to me and you we used to dance like the sun and the moon united by sisterhood sometimes life is hard on you but still you laugh with ease i hope i’ve been there for you at all times that you’ve needed me break the chains that hold you down release the thoughts that cause you doubt jump in the water and wash yourself clean from hurtful memories and heartache tears dance with me bare feet let’s go there where wood elves meet we will dance like we used to me and you we used to dance like the sun and the moon united by sisterhood sing to the moon let her be your ruler be the sea who loves in floods dance to the beat of a heart that dreams in fluid motion in endless streams dance with me bare feet let’s go there where wood elves meet we will dance like we used to me and you we used to dance like the sun and the moon united by sisterhood

Mama (live) 03:15
dark hair blue eyes is how i looked when we first met over twenty years passed my hair grew long like yours but i never said that the older i get the more i see myself as you sometimes it scares me but most days i’m just proud to take after you when i see you i know i’ll be fine ‘cause you raised me to be true to chasing those dreams that make life mine sometimes when we’d fight we’d sit and think it over for a while and then both want to apologize at the same time when i see you i know i’ll be fine ‘cause you raised me to be true to chasing those dreams that make life mine but when i see you running through your days faster than your legs can carry i beg you mum be kinder to yourself please set that example for me
9.
hold onto my wings I’ll take you with me we’ll soar high above the town possibilities with no end fly, fly, fly, fly I’ll take you with me we’ll go on journeys that were never walked we’ll go to places that we’ve never been we’re flying high above the sorrow where our heart can be free and rest alive, alive, alive, alive I’ll take you with me we’ll fly in the day at night under the stars we’ll fly in the wind in rays of sun when the day breaks alive, alive, alive, alive i’ll take you with me hold onto my wings and I’ll teach you to fly hold onto my wings and I’ll teach you to fly fly, fly, fly, fly free to love

do you remember when we first met i was half your age and half your height do you remember when we all crammed in the backseat teaching each other how to speak do you remember when Cobe would dance to make it rain and Anna would stand in it’s drops, washing her worries away do you remember how in love our parents were loving each other was easy so we could see them soar when you trust the wind you will find land when you trust the fire the forest will grow again, grow again do you remember how our four hands ran the keys for hours and hours on end do you remember when we’d walk through the woods hearing the frog choir sing, whispering our dreams or jumping on the trampoline in the pouring rain do you remember feeling clean and so, so sane do you remember how their love grew and changed when you trust the wind you will find land when you trust the fire the forest will grow again, grow again do you remember when we never stopped sweating in New Orleans scribbling in notebooks, while the ice cubes disappeared in our drinks because neither of us can avoid the words we need to sing ‘cause music is family our blood is not the same, but what runs through it is it’s the will to sing pain, straight from our hearts, love shining through our eyes can’t close our mouths, because the voice is so, so human to sing is to celebrate do you remember when we wrote this song let’s keep our memory strong

Growing 01:30
my mother’s mother gave my sister and me a patch of land in her garden and if we promised to nurture it we could grow what we wished for my sister planted beautiful flowers i solely planted carrots these roots helped me grow, tall like a tree growing up- and downward simultaneously i wait, for the moment to grow past the shadows that shield me till the moment I can feel the unfiltered sun on the cheeks of my leaves and every seed i plant will sprout, when it needs while the wind whispers through my branches i grow tall, wide, old and deep
12.
when we met i asked you to play green when you did i asked you to play spring i heard the birds so i asked you: “play a glistening stream” then i knew you play the strings inside my heart you show me when i can’t find my head you show me when i can’t feel my eyes you hold me till light arrives you love me and i know we enrich each other’s lives release all the fears we share for our love and dreams will take us there where we’ll shine bright like stars in the night sky we’ll shine, you and i you show me when i can’t find my head you show me when i can’t feel my eyes you hold me till light arrives you love me and i know we enrich each other’s lives spread your wings and dance with me like the knight of cups bear your message straight from your heart ‘cause into the darkest night you shine your light it’s why i love you by my side you show me when i can’t find my head you show me when i can’t feel my eyes you hold me till light arrives you love me and i know we enrich each other’s lives
13.
i pray to you, to ask your advice to tell me what i already know deep inside please lend me the strength to change what can be changed and please lend me the strength to bear what can’t be changed and please lend me the wisdom to differentiate you’ve seen love before but told me it was no more than a raindrop in the endless sea compared to our love you said “if this is not what brings purpose to my life nothing else is” but you see the splinter in my eye while you can’t see the beam, blocking your own sight you hurt me so bad, wounded me so deep but i can’t let it go unsaid that our love is stronger than our heads you keep me in such tight grip, till i go mad twenty-eight years past now we both know what we struggled for it’s these two lights that now grace the world we filled the voids in both our hearts now we may rest yet far apart but we knew love deep deep love and i wouldn’t have signed off even had i known, what I signed up for...

Reawakening 06:13
many turns around the sun ago there was indeed a speck of sand locked inside a long forgotten land the key is in the shape of a teacher when i close my eyes i feel you close every breath you breathe into my soul it feels like a dream to see your light but now I need to find my way back home ‘cause i realize what i need to feel, every day i breathe i know that this is real, you awakened me within oh you woke me, for the light i shine, you opened my eyes know there’s such a thing as pure awareness and out of it you’ll build the world you reflect if it were as easy as it sounds you wouldn’t need me to lend my hand now I realize what i need to feel, every day i breathe i know that this is real, you awakened me within oh you woke me, for the light, i shine, you opened my eyes now i realize what i need to feel, every day i breathe i know that this is real, you awakened me within oh you woke me, for the light i shine, you opened my eyes and there is no way back from this path i open my eyes
15.
let’s connect in our humanity let’s connect in kindness let’s connect as an antidote for the fear that suffocates hate that festers in hurting hearts let’s heal the pain carried through generations of emphasizing our differences let’s come to terms with our ancestors through the wisdom of today let us rise to the understanding that we are Family WE RISE, when we lift each other up
16.
Gratitude 02:17
the sun and the moon falling into itself realize that your world has changed the sun and the moon falling into itself realize that your world has changed the sun and the moon falling into itself i realize that my world has changed.
